Review of Round 4 of Second Stage

There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in FIBA Europe Cup. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Sopot between second ranked German Seawolves (2-2) and fourth ranked Polish Trefl (1-3) on Tuesday night. Seawolves were defeated by Trefl in a tough game on the road 74-83. Estonian guard Kasper Suurorg (200-2002, college: SFC) fired 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Szymon Zapala (213-2001, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. American forward DShawn Schwartz (199-1999, college: GMU) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Rostock at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Trefl is looking forward to face league's leader Murcia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rostock will play against Szombathely and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Guests from Thessaloniki (3-1) smashed host Prievidza (1-3) 87-67. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Breein Tyree (188-1998, college: Ole Miss) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 steals. Ben Moore contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. point guard Joe Toussaint (183-2000, college: Texas Tech) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds for Prievidza. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PAOK maintains second position with 3-1 record having just seven point less than leader Petkim, which they share with Bosna. Prievidza at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost.
